FIRST MEETING
Tomorrow's contest is the first known meeting between the two schools.
HEY YOU LOOK FAMILIAR
It is a homecoming of sorts for Offensive Coordinator
Jimmy Robertson. Robertson served as the Wide Receivers Coach in 2011, and the Quarterbacks Coach from 2012-14.
CATCHING UP
The Devils return senior wide receivers
Khrystan Camillo and
Damarquis Price, who each hauled in four touchdowns last season. Against Lycoming, Price hauled in five catches for 98 yards, while Camillo had 10 catches for 153 yards and two scores.
RUNNING WITH THE DEVILS
Junior
Alnazir Blackman along with Blakely are here for another season as part of the Devils backfield. They were top two rushers last year, combing for four touchdowns. The senior Blakely scored twice against Lebanon Valley and added five catches against Lycoming.
STRONG UP FRONT
FDU has a strong core of offensive linemen returning, anchored by Gonzalez and sophomore
Matthew Compton. Compton shined as a freshman, allowing just one sack and one quarterback. While starting as a center last year, he committed no penalties and started every game.
LINING IT UP
The Devils lost a significant key to their defense in All-American linebacker
Isaiah Turner, but return Simakoski, Lupton and fellow senior
Stewart Saharic. Simakoski was second on the team with 56 tackles, with Lupton chipping in 36 tackles, an interception, and a fumble recovery.
MAGIC MAN
Senior
Nick Maciejewski returns for a final season after going 2-for-2 on field goals and converting 36 extra-points. He was named the Middle Atlantic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week after hitting a 28-yard field goal which turned out to be the game-winner with 3:20 left against Lebanon Valley College.
SCOUTING USMMA
The Mariners ended last season with an 8-2 mark, including a win over Endicott in the New England Bowl. USMMA runs a triple option and returns starting quarterback Krystian Abbott and wide receiver Joe Vitelli. Abbott was the leading passer and rusher last year, while Vitelli led the squad with 25 receptions.
