MADISON, N.J. (September 12, 2019) – The FDU volleyball team served up a season-high 15 aces as the Devils downed Rosemont College 25-15, 25-12, 25-17 Thursday evening.
FDU levels its record at 3-3, while the Ravens fall to 1-6.
The Ravens closed to within one at 10-9 early in the first set before junior
Jessica Garreffa served four straight points. During the run, she served up consecutive aces to help the team stretch the lead to five points. The Ravens trimmed the gap down to four before senior
Nathalia Padron ended the opening frame with six straight tallies. The senior closed out the run with back-to-back aces.
The Devils constructed an 8-2 lead in the second stanza with rookie
Megan Walsh on the service line. The visitors were able to shrink the gap to six, but the Devils were able to close out the frame with nine of the final 11 markers to go up 2-0 in the match.
FDU never trailed in the final frame, but the Ravens kept the period close in the opening moments. A 5-1 spurt by the hosts put them in the driver's seat; however the visitors battled back with three straight points to trim the lead to 19-15. Padron hammered home three consecutive sets from setter

Rebecca Morse served up an ace on match point to give FDU the straight-set win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The Devils out-slugged Rosemont .256-.065 over the three frames.
- Padron recorded a season-high 19 kills while chipping in six digs.
- Ros handed out 27 assists and was two digs shy of a double-double.

FDU heads to Bryn Athyn College on Saturday for a tri-match. The Devils will face the hosts at 11 a.m. before taking on Ursinus College at 1 p.m.
