LA PLUME, Pa. (August 31, 2019) – Behind two goals from junior
Marissa Colvin and senior
Jessica Pietracatella, the FDU field hockey team earned a 6-0 win over Keuka College Saturday.
With the win, FDU improves to 2-0 on the season.
The Devils began the contest on the attack as they had two penalty corner attempts and one shot attempt in the first ten minutes of action. In the ninth minute of the game, the Devils connected for the opening goal via a shot from Colvin. In the 14th minute, the Devils doubled their lead, as freshman
Lauren Nawrotzki found Pietracatella to extend the advantage.
After garnering ten shot attempts in the second period, the visiting Devils headed into the break with the 2-0 lead on the Wolves. Pietracatella and FDU wasted little time to get on the board in the third quarter, as she scored her second goal of the game in the 33rd minute off an assist from Flukey.
Flukey continued to be an active force on offense, as she would score less than 30 seconds later off a pass from sophomore
Kendall Moore. The Devils added one more tally in the period, as Colvin broke through the defense in the 36th minute for her second goal of the afternoon. Entering the final frame up 5-0, senior
Maggie Sohns would add to the lead with a goal in the 46th minute to close out the scoring on the afternoon.
