The Devils fell behind early after allowing a goal within the first two minutes of the first quarter. However, lockdown defense limited the Cougars to only four more shots in the first period. The Devils first quarter offense was fueled by senior

Pat Stewart netted a goal on the man advantage just a mere 11 seconds into the second quarter to give the Devils a 3-1 lead.
The Cougars responded with two unanswered goals to tie it at three with 3:46 left in the half. A goal by freshman
Zane Johnston reclaimed the lead for the Devils but two Cougar goals to end the half gave Misericordia the lead into intermission.
The Cougars began the second half by extending their lead to 6-4, but Stewart quickly responded with his second goal of the night, a minute after the Cougars scored to make it 6-5. After another Misericordia goal, Warg's extra-man goal brought the Devils to within one once again at 7-6, halfway through the third period. Misericordia added another goal before the end of the third quarter.
A diving goal by junior
John Guido with 9:56 left in regulation made it a 9-7 game in favor of the Cougars. Unfortunately, the Devils were never able to complete the comeback. Misericordia would tally one final goal to close out the scoring.
