Men's Lacrosse Topped by Arcadia

GLENSIDE, Pa. (March 23, 2019) – The FDU-Florham Devils men's lacrosse team was topped 16-7, by Arcadia University Saturday afternoon.

FDU sits at 3-3 on the season, while Arcadia improves to 4-4.

The Devils were unable to overcome the 7-0 deficit they faced after the first quarter. However in the second quarter the Devils took advantage of two separate man-up opportunities to make it 7-2. The first man-up goal was an unassisted goal by sophomore Drew Bukowiec with 10:51 left in the half followed by a tally from junior John Belanger off a feed from junior John Guido. The Devils
netted a third consecutive goal at the 7:28 mark of the second quarter by junior Pat Stewart. After a quick response by Arcadia, freshman Zane Johnston netted a goal to make it 8-4 heading into the half.

The Knights started the second half by scoring four straight goals to make it a 12-4 contest. The defensive effort by Arcadia only allowed the Devils to score on man-up opportunities for the rest of the game. The first of these opportunities came at the 3:47 mark of the third quarter when Bukowiec netted his second goal to make it 12-5. In the fourth quarter the Devils were able to only score twice. Belanger's second goal of the game came at the 8:11 make of the game while senior Michael Warg netted his first goal of the game with only 1:32 left on the clock.
