MADISON, N.J. (March 20, 2019) – The FDU-Florham Devils women's lacrosse team fell 9-4, against Drew University Wednesday afternoon.
Senior
Kathleen Petrucelli led the Devils with two goals while senior
Caitlyn Damon and sophomore
Olivia Chaoush added one each. Damon notched an assist on Petrucelli's goal while senior
Caroline Pape assisted on the Devils first goal of the evening.
The Devils fell behind early allowing Drew to score the first four goals of the game, but Petrucelli's goal with 2:53 left in the first half brought the Devils to within three at the midway point. Senior
Megan Nemeth had four saves in the first half.
The Ranger lead was cut to two when the Devils scored on their second shot of the half to make it 4-2. Drew would extend their lead back up to three with a goal on their next shot attempt, but Chaoush found the back of the net a minute later to make it 5-3. However, this was as close as the Devils would get as over the next 15 minutes the Rangers rattled off three goals on 10 shot attempts. Petrucelli netted her second goal with 6:55 left in regulation on a free position attempt to close out the scoring.
