OWINGS MILL, Md. (May 12, 2018) - The FDU men's tennis team fell to Pfeiffer University 4-0 in the ECAC Semifinals Saturday morning.
The Devils ended their season with a 15-6 record, tying the school-record for wins in a season. The team also qualified for the Middle Atlantic Conference Championship Tournament, falling to King's in semifinals.
Playing by the International Tennis Association rules, FDU dropped doubles matches at No. 2 and No. 3 to fall behind early. Since doubles counted as one point, FDU found themselves in a 1-0 hole entering singles action. Freshman

Christopher McArthur fell 6-2 at No. 3, while senior
Chris Ly and sophomore
Chris Fiorenza dropped a 6-1 decision at No. 2.
The Falcons held control in singles action, starting with a 6-0, 6-0 triumph at No. 1 singles. Ly was downed 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3, putting the Devils on the verge of elimination. Fiorenza dropped the final match of the at No. 5, falling 6-1, 6-0. At the time of the match clinching, Pfeiffer was also ahead in the three unfinished matches.
