MADISON – The Fairleigh Dickinson University women's lacrosse team topped St. Joseph's College (LI) in non-conference play, 15-8, Thursday afternoon at Robert T. Shields Field.

The Devils improve to 5-4 as the Golden Eagles drop to 2-5 on the season.

FDU-Florham fired in the first three goals of the game at the hands of juniors Caitlyn Damon, Kathleen Petrucelli and senior Cassidy Vastano.

St. Joseph's College (LI) was able to find the net twice, but the Devils continued to pile on an aggressive offense and left half time with a dominant 12-2 lead.

The Golden Eagles found some momentum in the second half, scoring six, but Damon, Petrucelli and graduate student Noelle Shirey scored three more to seal the deal.

Petrucelli, Shirey and junior Caroline Pape each finished with three goals in the contest while Damon, Vastano and senior Samantha Holleritter added two tallies each.

Holleritter led the Devils with five ground balls and three caused turnovers and added two assists and two draw controls.

Shirey also won four draw controls and caused two turnovers as Petrucelli picked up two assists in addition to her three goals.
