MADISON, N.J. (November 9, 2018) - The FDU-Florham football team closes out the regular season with a road contest against Stevenson.
GAME INFO
Kickoff at Mustang Stadium in Owings Mill, Md. is scheduled for 12 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
SERIES HISTORY
The Mustangs have recorded victories in all seven previous meetings against the Devils. Last season, Stevenson picked up a 52-14 triumph at Robert T. Shields Field.
WHAT'S AT STAKE
A Devils victory would clinch them a berth in the Middle Atlantic Conference/Centennial Conference Bowl Game. The Devils also are ECACÂ Bowl eligible, and will find out Monday at noon if they are participating in any of those three contests.
STEVENSON REPORT
The Mustangs enter with a 7-2 record, including a 6-1 record in the MAC. Sophomore Ty Crabb has stepped in at QB, tossing eight touchdowns in the air while adding four on the ground.
LAST TIME OUT
FDU picked up a 21-17 on Senior Night over Widener last Friday night. Junior
Josh Rainey accounted for two running scores in the game.
NO BETTER TIME
Freshman
Frank DiMattina hauled in a 31-yard touchdown reception, his first collegiate touchdown. He has notched 24 receptions this season for 145 yards.
TURNER TIME
Senior
Isaiah Turner finally earned MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Week honors. The senior notched 16 tackles including 3.5 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks. Turner also picked up his third interception of the season.
ECAC
For the second straight month, Turner was selected as the ECACÂ Defensive Player of the Month. Through the season, he has notched 124 tackles and 10.0 sacks.
BLOCKED!
One of the biggest plays against Widener came on a Pride field goal attempt. Junior
Jose Caceres burst through the line and blocked the field goal, giving FDU the ball back. For that, Caceres was named the MAC Special Teams Player of the Week.
PLANTED
Senior
Robert Planter was named to the D3Football.com Team of the Week after tallying 3.0 sacks and 4.5 tackles for a loss. One of his biggest tackles was on fourth and short near midfield, hitting the running back for no gain.
SEALED IT
With Widener attempting one final drive, senior
Ryan Wilson notched his fifth interception of the season, sealing the win for FDU.
