MADISON, N.J. (October 26, 2018) - The FDU-Florham field hockey team was defeated 3-0 by No. 3 Rowan Friday afternoon.
The game, originally scheduled for 6 p.m. was moved up two hours to inclement weather forecasts. FDU drops to 15-4, while Rowan improves to 18-0 on the season.
FDU kept the high-scoring Profs off the board in the first half, but were out-shot 11-5. The Profs held a commanding 10-0 edge in penalty corners during the opening 35 minutes. Rowan was thwarted twice by junior
Marie Pietracatella, who notched a pair of defensive saves within a 39 second span.
Rowan broke through for the games first goal 12:29 into the second stanza, as Rachel Galante shot from just inside the circle into the right side of the goal. Rowan tacked on two more tallies eight minutes apart midway through the period, breaking the game open. The Profs have scored at least three goals in every game this season.

The Devils host Eastern in the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom Championship Semifinals on Wednesday at 7 p.m. FDU notched a 6-3 come from behind win over the Eagles earlier this season.
