MADISON, N.J. (April 21, 2017) - Sophomore
Brad Norris tossed a complete game, but the FDU baseball team fell to Delaware Valley 7-1 Friday.
FDU loaded the bases in the first, but a strikeout ended the frame. The Aggies started early, as a one-out, two-run double opened the scoring in the bottom of the first. The hosts doubled their lead in the third, as a sacrifice fly and a single with two outs made the score 4-0.
Two errors in the bottom of the sixth led to three additional tallies for Delaware Valley (11-11, 5-9 MAC Freedom). The Devils (10-15, 4-9 MAC Freedom) had runners on in the fourth through the seventh innings, but were unable to push a run across. FDU broke through in the ninth, as senior Nick DeAngelis Jr. had a bases loaded single. The team loaded the bases again, but a double play ended the game.
DeAngelis had three hits, while sophomore
Joseph Bonaccorso and junior
Christopher Franco had two each. Norris struck out four in his nine innings of work.
