MADISON, N.J. (April 2, 2017) - Sophomore
Caitlyn Damon and senior
Brienna Reasoner each tallied four goals as the FDU women's lacrosse team topped Ramapo 16-3 Sunday.
FDU is now 6-3 while Ramapo fell to 5-4.
The Devils got on the scoreboard early, as senior
Brienna Reasoner had a hat-trick before the game was six minutes old. Classmate
Noelle Shirey recorded back-to-back tallies as six different goal scorers lit the lamp in the first 30 minutes of play. FDU had a dominating first period, outshooting the Roadrunners 21-5.
Reasoner struck for her fourth of the afternoon 38 seconds into the second stanza, while Damon and Shirey completed hat-tricks two thirds of the way through the frame. With time winding down in the contest,
Cassidy Vastano recorded her second of the game with a mere two seconds left on the clock.
Nine players had at least one point, led by five from Damon. Senior
Frances Maggio tallied four assists, three ground balls and three draw controls. Sophomores
Megan Nemeth and
Erin Gill split time in the cage, combining to make four saves.
The Devils will open MAC Freedom play with a 4 p.m. home tilt against DeSales Wednesday.
