WILKES BARRE, Pa. (October 21, 2017) - The FDU men's tennis team qualified five individuals and one doubles team for the MAC Individual Tournament semifinals tomorrow.
No. 1 Singles - Senior
Max Moscowitz advanced to the semifinals with a 6-0, 3-6, 10-6 win in the quarters. He will face Tim Dunn of Messiah in the semis.
No. 3 Singles - Sophomore
Kevin Weller needed three sets to qualify for the semifinals, winning 6-4, 2-6, 10-6. He meets No. 1 seeded Jon White of Wilkes in the semis.
No. 4 Singles - Senior
Chris Ly easily advanced to the semifinals with a 6-2, 6-1 win. The senior No. 2 seed will meet No. 3 seeded Andrew Bookman of Messiah.
No. 6 Singles - Sophomore
Chris Fiorenza who was seeded No. 3 will meet Richie Abruscato of Stevenson in the semis. Fiorenza won 6-4, 7-5 in the quarterfinals.
No. 7 Singles - Freshman
Tyler Schacher won two matches to qualify for the semis, including a 6-0, 6-1 win in the quarterfinals. He meets Ben Hinkley of Lebanon Valley in the semifinals tomorrow.
No. 3 Doubles - Ly and senior Steve Serras earned a bye as the No. 2 seed, then won 9-7 in the quarters. They'll meet No. 3 seeded Lebanon Valley in the semifinals.
