Women's Soccer Edged Out by Eagles

ST. DAVIDS, Pa. – The FDU-Florham women's soccer dropped a tough 1-0 decision to Eastern University in a Middle Atlantic Freedom Conference match at Olsen Field Saturday afternoon.

The Devils fall to 8-6 on the season and 1-3 in the conference as the Eagles improve to 6-5 and 3-1 in the MAC Freedom.

Both squads played an evenly matched game as FDU-Florham slightly outshot their opponent, 9-8. The contest went scoreless for 80 minutes until Eastern was able to convert off corner kick to take a 1-0 lead with just 10 minutes remaining.

FDU-Florham scrambled find the equalizer as freshman Tatiana Nieto and senior Missy Quinn fired shots on goal in the final minutes, but Eastern's Adrianna Rowlands came up with the saves.

Nieto led the offensive campaign with two shots as Quinn and freshmen Erica Martins and Madison Rosa fired one each on net.

In goal, freshman Ashley Paulino made two saves in the defeat.

Up next, the Devils return to conference play against Manhattanville College on Wednesday, Oct. 18 at 4 p.m. in Purchase, N.Y.
