MADISON, N.J. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson University men's basketball team fell to Yeshiva University, 65-49, in the Ferguson Recreation Center on Monday night.
The Devils dropped to 3-7 as the Macabees improved to 8-5.Â
FDU-Florham had trouble from the free-throw line all night, going 7-for-21, giving Yeshiva the opportunity to widen the scoring the gap.Â
The Devils started off hot shooting 4-for-5 to start the game, but the Macabees quickly took the momentum and ran with it. Yeshiva powered out a 44.8 shooting percentage compared to the Devils' 36.0 percentage in the first half.
Junior
Ryan Rigby opened up the second half by scoring his first two points of the season from the charity stripe and later sparked the Devils with two three-pointers. Rigby finished the night with eight points, one assist and two blocks.Â
Sophomore
Derek Leohner led the Devils with 10 points including three assists and four steals while sophomore
Anthony Mitchell grabbed a game-high eight defensive rebounds. Senior
Donte Ali went 4-for-7 in the night with eight points and two assists.
Still, the Macabees dominated the court as Simcha Halpert nabbed a game-high 20 points and Dean Pienica had 13 points and nine rebounds.Â
The Devils will open up Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom play next against Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. on Wednesday, Jan. 4 at 8 p.m.
