MADISON, N.J. -- FDU-Florham women's soccer senior forward
Kristen Fila was the hero on Wednesday night, firing a shot over the opposing goalie's head with just three minutes left in overtime to push the Devils past Albright College, 1-0, at Robert T. Shields Field.
Fila's game-winner off a pass from senior midfielder
Brittni Calleo snapped the Lion's six-game win streak as FDU-Florham improved to 4-4-3 on the season and Albright dropped to 6-4.
The Lions outshot the Devils, 14-8 but couldn't break through the tight goaltending of senior
Annie George who made eight saves to earn the shutout.
Senior forward
Kristina Ragolia worked hard up top, firing two shots on net and putting constant pressure on the Lions' defense. In the midfield, junior
Missy Quinn played a commanding game, halting Albright's attack while sparking offensive plays for the Devils.
After a scoreless end to regulation time, Fila's goal in the 101st minute put the Devils on top.
FDU-Florham wore teal during their warmups prior to the contest to raise awareness for Ovarian Cancer.
The Devils return to action when they host their first Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom game against DeSales University on Saturday, Oct. 1 at 12 p.m.
