MADISON, NJ -- Senior midfielder
Brittni Calleo had two goals and two assists in the Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham women's soccer team's 4-1 defeat of Mount Saint Vincent on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at Robert T. Shields Field.
The Devils improved to 3-2-2 on the season as the Dolphins fell to 3-2.
FDU-Florham and Mount Saint Vincent were even with 1-1 at the half until the Devils kicked it into gear in the second, scoring three and outshooting their opponent 17-6 on the night.
Calleo made the first move, scoring on a penalty kick, drilling a shot to the top left corner of the Dolphin's net at 17:25.
However, Dolphins' Julia McGowan evened it up when the ball got loose from goalie
Annie George's hands after making a save off a cross. McGowan was there to grab the ball and tap the ball in for a point.
However, junior defender
Missy Quinn wasted no time in regaining the lead for the Devils. Just over two minutes into the second half, Quinn headed the ball into the net off a corner kick from Calleo to make it 2-1.
Freshman midfielder
Lindsey Scarmozzino played an active role in FDU-Florham's offensive chances, making several runs from the outside. Finally at the 64th minute, her hard work paid off as she connected on a cross from Calleo for the Devils' third goal.
Calleo finished off her campaign at 83:59, finishing a beautiful through ball from Scarmozzino that hit the bottom left corner of the net to seal the game at 4-1.
Next up the Devils travel to Annandale-On-Hudson, N.Y. to take on Bard College on Saturday, Sept. 17.
