Men's Tennis Locks Up No. 2 Seed With Win over King's

MADISON, N.J. – The Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham men's tennis team took down King's College 5-4 in a preview of the upcoming MAC Freedom Tournament on Saturday afternoon.

With the win, the Devils (11-9) lock up the No. 2 seed in this week's MAC Freedom Tournament and will host the Monarchs in the semifinals on Wednesday, May 4 at 3:30 p.m.

The Devils edged the Monarchs in the crucial conference showdown by winning four of the six singles' flights.

In doubles play the Monarchs took two out of three but Chris Ly and Ryan O'Keefe rolled to an 8-0 win in second doubles to aid in the win.

After the Monarchs claimed the first two singles flights, the Devils rallied with dominant performances across the board.

Rich Bennett set the tone with a 6-1, 6-0 win in third singles and Ly followed suit by sweeping fourth singles 6-0, 6-0. Then Ryan

O'Keefe battled for a three-set victory in fifth singles before Steven Serras sealed the victory by earning a win over Terry Briggs in sixth singles.
