DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – The Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham men's tennis team picked up their first MAC Freedom victory when they defeated the Delaware Valley University Aggies 9-0 on Saturday afternoon.
The Devils (6-6, 1-0 MAC Freedom) played brilliantly all around against the Aggies (0-3, 0-1 MAC Freedom). In first doubles, sophomore Max Moscowitz and freshman Rich Bennett defeated Colin Evoy and Jase Shakun 8-0. The reigning two-time conference player of the week, Chris Ly, and Ryan O'Keefe then teamed up for second doubles and also came out on top 8-0.
The success for the Devils continued into singles play and in first singles, Jason Dubinsky defeated Envoy 6-2, 6-2. Steven Serras then stepped onto the court for second singles and took down Nicolas Princetta 6-0, 6-0. In third singles Jonathan Ford claimed the victory 6-4, 6-1 over his opponent.
Jason Roth represented the Devils in fourth singles and after losing the opening set 1-6, he was able to bounce back to win the following two 7-6, 7-6.
The Aggies forfeited third doubles as well as fifth and sixth singles.
The Devils will return to the court on Wednesday, April 6 for a showdown with Ramapo College at 4 p.m. in Mahwah, N.J.
