Men's Tennis Earns Non-Conference Win Over Berkeley

MADISON, N.J. – The Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham men's tennis team topped Berkeley College (N.Y.) 6-3 in non-conference action at the Florham Campus Tennis Courts on Tuesday afternoon.

The Devils (8-8) claimed two of three doubles flights before earning victories in four of the six singles matches against the Knights (1-4).

Sophomore Chris Ly continued his winning ways by coasting to a flawless afternoon. Ly rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 straight-set win in fourth singles after teaming up with Jonathan Ford for an 8-0 drubbing in third doubles.

Competing in his first match of the season, freshman Bobby Davison battled for a three-set win over Berkeley's Prince Ngakala in sixth singles. Davison won the first set 6-2 and dropped the second 4-6 before rallying for a thrilling 11-9 win in the decisive third set.

The Knights looked sharp early on by earning a pair of three-set victories in first and second singles, however, the Devils took control from that point forward. Rich Bennett, Ly and Ryan O'Keefe each blanked their opponents in third, fourth and fifth singles, respectively to lock up the non-conference win.

The Devils return to conference action for their next match this Saturday, April 23 when they travel to Wilkes-Barre, Pa. to take on Wilkes University at 1 p.m.
