Men's Tennis Edged by Eagles in Conference Battle

ST.DAVIDS, Pa. – The Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham men's tennis team was edged by Eastern University 5-4 on Monday afternoon.

The Devils (6-8, 1-1 MAC Freedom) battled the Eagles (4-5, 1-1 MAC Freedom) to the very end but ultimately came up short in the tightly-contested conference matchup.

Eastern opened the afternoon by claiming two of the three doubles flights. Chris Ly and Ryan O'Keefe picked up a crucial 8-6 win in second doubles to help avoid the sweep.

Max Moscowitz continued his strong season by earning a three-set victory over Eastern's Grant Williams in first singles. Moscowitz took the first set 7-6 but dropped the second set 7-4. The sophomore dug deep and won the decisive third set 6-2.

The Devils seemed poised to continue their momentum as Chris Ly cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 victory in second singles, however, the Eagles proceeded to win three of the final four flights and come away with their first MAC Freedom win of the season.

FDU-Florham continues its three-match week this Wednesday, April 13 against Immaculata University. First serve is set for 3 p.m. in Madison.
