Men's Lacrosse Unable to Slow Fords in 18-3 Loss

MADISON, N.J. – The Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham men's lacrosse team suffered an 18-3 setback at the hands of Haverford College at Robert T. Shields Field on Sunday afternoon.

The Devils (0-3) were unable to slow the Fords' (2-2) attack in the one-sided contest.

In the loss, David Stewart notched his first goal of the campaign for FDU-Florham, while Will Charbonneau netted two.

The Fords outshot the Devils 47-18 and used a 20-4 advantage in faceoffs to control the tempo. Chase Williams led Haverford with six goals on the afternoon, while Stephen DeLeo contributed three.

Haverford scored the first three goals of the contest before Charbonneau took a feed from Dan Decker and buried it at the 5:59 mark of the first period. Decker battled defensively, causing five turnovers and picking up four ground balls on the day.

The Devils were unable to slow the Fords from that point on as Haverford rattled off seven unanswered goals and carried a 10-1 lead into the break.

The Fords built an insurmountable lead by registering the first five scores of the third quarter before Charbonneau snapped the run early in the fourth quarter with his second score of the game.

FDU-Florham will look to snap its three-game skid when it hosts Rosemont College this Wednesday, March 9 at 7 p.m.
