MADISON, N.J. (December 6, 2016) – The FDU women's basketball team forced 22 turnovers en route to a 62-49 win over Drew Tuesday.
The Devils improve to 5-2, while Drew fell to 2-5.
Freshman
Taiah Thornton scored six straight points during a mid-first quarter stretch, helping push the Devils lead to nine heading into the second. With FDU leading 19-13 in the second frame, Drew evened the game up at 22, courtesy of a 9-3 run.

Alyssa McDonough closed out the spurt with layup. Freshman
Kendrea Williams canned a corner trey to build a double-digit edge, but Hannah Miller answered with a layup with 26 ticks left to cut the halftime lead to eight.
Thornton had a half high four steals, as the Devils forced 12 thefts in the opening 20 minutes of play.
The Rangers came out firing in the third, using a 7-0 run to cut the Devils lead down to one point with 7:11, but FDU countered with a 13-0 run to end the quarter. Drew got within eight, but Thornton hit a pair of layups to reconstruct the double digit lead.
Williams led all scorers with 21 points, while Thornton finished with 16 points, five rebounds and four steals. Mcdonough notched a double-double for the second straight game, going for 14 points and 13 boards.
The Devils will be off until December 18 when they head to Miami to take on Hartwick in the HoopMia D3 Holiday Shootout.
