MADISON, N.J. – After Manhattanville College netted the first goal, the FDU-Florham women's lacrosse team scored 16 unanswered goals en route to a 16-1 victory on Wednesday night at Robert T. Shields Field.
The Devils (11-3, 4-0 Freedom) have now won seven games in a row and remain atop the Freedom Conference standings.
Noelle Shirey (Pine Beach, N.J.),
Brianna Capobianco (Williston Park, N.Y.) and
Courtney Rendinaro (Hillsborough, N.J.) each recorded three goals in the victory. Rendinaro, the reigning Freedom Conference Player of the Week, also added two assists, five caused turnovers and five ground balls to her ledger.
Just under two minutes into play, Manhattanville (4-8, 1-2 Freedom) midfielder
AnnaMarie Nardone swooped in for the game's first goal.
From that point on, the game belonged to the Devils. Rendinaro buried an unassisted strike, then with 23:47 to play in the opening half, Shirey scored and the home team never trailed again.
The Devils went on to score seven more goals before halftime and entered the break with a comfortable 9-1 lead. FDU-Florham outshot the Valiants 15-4 over the first 30 minutes of action and outpaced Manhattanville 12-4 on ground balls during the opening stanza.

Dana Amorosi (Deptford, N.J.) got in on the action with her 10
th goal of the season before
Frances Maggio (Bound Brook, N.J.) tallied back-to-back strikes, which stretched the lead to 12-1.
With the 10-goal rule in effect, the Devils coasted to the finish line, adding four more goals along the way.
In addition to her three goals, Shirey corralled three ground balls and three draw controls, while
Brittni Calleo (Bayville, N.J.) chipped in two scores in the win.
