MADISON, N.J. -- The FDU-Florham men's tennis team dropped its 2015 season opener 8-1 to Drew University on Sunday afternoon at the Simon Forum.
Second singles' freshman
Max Moscowitz (Upper Saddle River, N.J.) earned the Devils' lone victory by topping Drew's
Tommy Butschi in three sets 6-2, 4-6, 6-4.
The matchup began with doubles play and the Rangers prevailed in all three matches. Butschi teamed up with
Adam Clark to claim first doubles 8-5 over Moscowitz and
Mitch Gettis (Reading, Pa.). The Rangers went on to win second doubles 8-1 and third doubles 8-3.
Clark topped Gettis 6-2, 6-1 in first singles and after Moscowitz's victory the Rangers clean swept third through sixth positions.
In their next outing, the Devils head to New York, N.Y. to take on Yeshiva University next Wednesday, March 11 at 1 p.m.
