WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The FDU-Florham volleyball team competed at the Worthington Classic this weekend hosted by Gallaudet University and finished the two-day tournament 2-2.
On Friday the Devils (18-6) were swept 3-0 by Virginia Wesleyan College but blanked Illiniois Institute of Technology 3-0. Saturday saw the Devils also split their two matches with a 3-1 loss to host Gallaudet before they swept Catholic University 3-0 in the finale.

Lauren Harris was named to the All-Tournament Team at the conclusion of the weekend.
vs. Virginia Wesleyan College (0-3) - 16-25, 24-26, 23-25
This was the second meeting between the Devils and Marlins this season. The two teams met earlier when Virginia Wesleyan hosted an opening season tournament. After dropping the Marlins 3-1 back in September, the Devils were unable to complete the season sweep this weekend.
Lauren Harris led the way for the Devils in the three-set loss with 14 kills, while
Melissa Gaffney totaled 10 in the match.
Kristi Wong dished out 26 assists for the Devils and
Alex Mueller amassed 18 digs.
vs. Illinois Institute of Technology(3-0) - 25-17, 25-10, 25-14
The Devils featured a balanced attack in the victory over Illinois Institute on Friday night. The freshman trio of Harris, Wong and
Kate Quinlan all recorded seven kills, while sophomore Codi-Inloes Williams dished out 16 assists.
vs. Gallaudet University(1-3) - 25-20, 21-25, 24-26, 14-25
After taking the first set, the Devils were unable to close out the host Bison, who rattled off three-straight wins to claim the match.
Harris was the lone Devil to record double-digit kills with 15, while Wong totaled 23 assists and Inloes-Williams handed out 15 in the loss.
Alex Mueller battled on defense and recorded a match-best 25 digs in the four-set loss.
vs. Catholic University(3-0) - 25-17, 25-23, 25-21
The Devils closed the weekend with a three-set sweep of the Cardinals. After a comfortable first-set win, the second and third set featured tightly contested matches.
Three Devils totaled double-digit kills in the win with Harris (14), Gaffney (12), and Wong (10). Wong picked up the double-double by also handing out 21 assists, while fellow setter Inloes-Williams totaled 19.
The Devils return to action when they head on the road to take on nationally-ranked Eastern University this Wednesday, October 14 at 7 p.m.
