Box Score ALLENTOWN, Pa. -- The FDU-Florham volleyball team was unable to find a win on the final day of the Buttermaker Tournament, falling to both Moravian College and DeSales University 3-0 on Saturday afternoon.
The Devils (4-6) finished the weekend tournament -- hosted by Muhlenberg College -- with a 1-4 mark and earned their lone victory on Friday against Rutgers-Camden. Freshman
Melissa Gaffney (League City, Texas/Clear Creek) was named to the All-Tournament Team for her strong play during the two days. Match One:The Devils faced off against Moravian College (5-3) in their first match on Saturday and went down in straight sets 9-25, 18-25, 22-25. Freshman outside hitters
Melissa Gaffney and
Natalie Knudsen (Chester, N.J./Mendham) each totaled six kills, while sophomore
DeAnna D'Amico (Totowa, N.J./Passaic Valley) added five kills for FDU-Florham in the loss. Gaffney also played strong defense and had a match-high 12 digs. The Greyhounds were led by junior
Lauren Hostetler, who had a team-high six kills and seven digs. At the conclusion of the day, Hostetler joined Gaffney by being named to the All-Tournament team.
Match Two:In their second tilt of the day, FDU-Florham battled Freedom Conference foe DeSales University. The Devils were unable to slow the Bulldogs' attack and dropped all three sets (20-25, 16-25, 10-25) in the first meeting of 2014 between the two squads. For DeSales, All-Tournament Team member

Next up for the DevilsFDU-Florham will host Maritime College and Mount Saint Mary College (NY) in a tri-match this Wednesday, September 10th with first serve scheduled for 4:30 p.m. at Fergusion Recreation Center.
