Box Score READING, Pa. – The FDU-Florham Devils women's lacrosse team rallied back from an 8-2 first-half deficit to defeat Alvernia University 16-11 on Saturday afternoon and earn their first win of the season.
Devils junior midfielder
Courtney Rendinaro (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) led all scorers with five goals and helped FDU-Florham to pull away from the Crusaders for the win.
FDU-Florham held a 2-1 advantage, before the Crusaders netted seven-unanswered goals to stake an 8-2 lead. The Devils rallied by scoring five of the last six goals in the half and entered intermission trailing 9-7. With the game knotted at 11-11, the Devils caught fire and seized control of the match by tallying the game's last five goals to earn the win.
Freshman standout
Joelle Manganella (Kenvil, N.J./Roxbury) finished with four goals and two groundballs, while fellow newcomer
Brienna Reasoner (Flemington, N.J./Hunterdon Central) totaled four groundballs and four caused turnovers in the victory. Manganella now leads the Devils with 11 goals on the season.
Sophomore
Brianna Capobianco (Williston Park, N.Y./Kellenberg) and freshman midfielder
Noelle Shirey (Pine Beach, N.J./Toms River South) each totaled hat tricks in the win with three goals apiece. Shirey did a stellar job on draw controls and claimed four in the contest.

th to take on Muhlenberg College with start time slated for 4 p.m.
