Devils Fall to No.15 Cougars 4-0

DALLAS, Pa. – The FDU-Florham women's soccer team fell 4-0 to the 15th-ranked Misericordia University Cougars in a Freedom Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon.

The Devils (5-8-2, 1-3 Freedom) ran into a Cougars team that has only surrendered two goals in their current eight-game winning streak. Meghan Antrim led the Misericordia (14-2, 6-0 Freedom) attack by netting three goals.

In the 16th minute, Erin McGreal sent a ball into the box and Antrim headed it into the back of the net for her first goal to give Misericordia an early 1-0 lead.

Sophomore goalkeeper Annie George (Denville/N.J.) was strong protecting the net for the remainder of the half stopping several shots. George finished the contest with six saves. However, in the second half the Cougars kept firing away at the net and in the 63rd minute, Antrim headed another ball into the net for her second goal.

Less than three minutes later it was Antrim again but this time finishing off a Megan Mahoney through ball. Mahoney played a good game dishing out three assists.

The Cougars totaled 19 shots in the game, while the Devils were held to four. Alyssa Pojero and Maureen Ciccosanti combined for three saves for the Cougars in their shutout victory.
