Box Score Ewing, N.J.-- The FDU-Florham Devils field hockey team dropped their road opener 6-1 to The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) Lions on Saturday afternoon at Lions Stadium.

The Devils (1-2) fell behind early, allowing four first half goals to the Lions (1-1) and had no answer for TCNJ junior forward Erin Healy who completed a hat trick early in the second half.

Alicia Theoret netted FDU's lone goal when she tipped in teammate Noelle Shirey's shot attempt with 6:20 remaining in the first half. The Devils offense struggled all afternoon and were unable to mount a second half comeback. 

TCNJ has now defeated the Devils 24 straight times including a tough 1-0 loss last season at Shields Field.

FDU will look to get back on track when they take on Rowan University this Thursday, September 12th at Shields Field with face-off scheduled for 7 p.m.
