Box Score ANNVILLE, PA – It was a rough afternoon for the FDU-Florham Devils football team as they were on the wrong side of a 65-21 loss at the hands of the Lebanon Valley Dutchmen.
FDU-Florham (1-2, 0-2 MAC) was outscored 30-14 in the second quarter by the high-powered Dutchmen (3-1, 2-1 MAC) attack. Lebanon Valley accrued 503 yards of total offense on the afternoon, of which, 283 came via the ground.
The Devils first score of the day came with four minutes to play in the first half, when Mike Santos (North Arlington, N.J./St. Mary's) hooked up with
Anthony Fruncillo (Tinton Falls, N.J./Monmouth Regional) on a 55-yard cross-field touchdown pass. Santos accumulated 195 passing yards on the afternoon, along with three touchdowns and three interceptions.
In defeat, the Devils totaled 336 yards of offense but were unable to manufacture consistent drives. The Dutchmen backfield was led by Austin Hartman and Brandon Irving, who each found pay dirt four times in the win.
Also scoring for the Devils were freshman wide receivers
Trey Smith (Long Branch, N.J./Long Branch) and
Esaun Mobley (Denville, N.J./Morris Knolls). The touchdown receptions for Smith and Mobley were the first of their respective careers.
