D'Amico Powers Devils Past Cougars

Box Score DALLAS, P.A. – The FDU-Florham Devils (3-2) field hockey team picked up their second win in a row on Monday afternoon as they defeated the Misericordia Cougars (1-6) 3-2 on the strength of two second half goals from Gabby D'Amico.

The Devils got on the board first when senior midfielder Lanie Andrews found the net in the 18th minute.  Andrews' goal was her team-leading fifth of the season and she has now scored in four of the Devils five games this season.

After the Cougars took a 2-1 lead courtesy of two consecutive goals from forward Lindsay Hischak, Gabby D'Amico proceeded to steal the show. D'Amico evened the score less than two minutes later with her first goal of the season.

As the game entered the final minutes, it was D'Amico who answered the bell again, delivering the game's decisive goal in the 67th minute by following up an Andrews rebound and driving it passed the keeper.

Devils senior goalkeeper Tess Loughran made three saves in the victory, picking up her second win of the season. FDU has now defeated Misericordia three straight times including a 5-2 victory in 2012.
