Box Score WILKES-BARRE, PA - With only nine points on the scoreboard and 4:00 left in the first half, the College at Florham Devils built themselves to big off a hole to dig out of against Wilkes on Wednesday evening in Freedom Conference action, as FDU fell to the Colonels by a score of 60-42. Although the Devils did close the gap to just one point late in the second half, FDU shot only 21.7% from the field and just 52.4% from the foul line.
With the loss, the Devils dropped to 10-12 (5-6 Freedom) while the Colonels improved to 10-11 (3-8 Freedom).
FDU got to exactly the kind of start the didn't want, falling behind by a count of 14-2 with six minutes gone by in the first half. After cutting it to 14-7 thanks to a three-pointer from junior forward
Andrew Stress, Wilkes went on an 11-2 run to grab a 25-9 advantage with 4:00 remaining. The Devils finally showed some signs of life at that point, as they reeled off an 11-5 run to close to 30-20 with 0:34 to go but Wilkes scored the final bucket of the half to take a 32-20 lead into intermission.
The Devils built on the momentum they established late in the first half by opening the second half with a 10-6 run to close to 36-30 just five minutes in. After the Colonels made it 39-30, FDU responded by ripping off a 12-4 run to trim the deficit to 43-42 with 5:31 to play. Five different players scored in the run for the Devils. Unfortunately, that was as close as they would get as FDU went cold from the field while Wilkes closed the game on a 17-0 run to earn the 60-42 win.

Derek Hall added seven points and 14 rebounds. Junior forward
Will Green posted seven points and 10 boards while junior guard
Trevor Sykes tallied 10 points.
The Devils return to action on Saturday, February 9, 2013, at home against DeSales beginning at 3 pm.
