Katie Rolwood, the College at Florham Devils were defeated by St. Joseph's (L.I.) by a score of 14-6 in their 2013 season opener on Saturday afternoon.
With the loss, the Devils dropped to 0-1 while the Eagles improved to 1-1.
The Eagles started the first half hot, scoring the first six goals of the game before Rolwood got the Devils on the board with 9:06 left in the half. St. Joseph's then scored the final goal of the stanza to take a 7-1 lead into the intermission. St. Joseph's made it 8-1 with 3:45 gone by in the second half but Rolwood made it 8-2 just two minutes later. The Eagles responded by reeling off three straight goals to take an 11-2 advantage but Rolwood and junior attack
Ashley Schlindwein scored back-to-back goal to make it 11-4 with 14:17 remaining. The two squads traded goals from that point on with the Eagles getting the better of the exchange on their way to a 14-6 win.
