Ryan Hurdes (Succasunna, N.J./Roxbury) delivered once again, as the FDU-Florham Devils men's soccer team defeated Eastern University 1-0 on Wednesday afternoon to advance to Saturday's Freedom Conference finals.
Hurdes showed why he was named to the All-Freedom Conference first team when he broke a 0-0 tie in the 53
rd minute, propelling the Devils (11-7-1) to the 1-0 win. The goal -- Hurdes' team-leading 19
th of the season -- was assisted by forward
Chaz Armand (Atlanta, Ga./Westlake).
FDU-Florham pulled off the upset of top-seeded Eastern (14-4-1) after falling to the Eagles 1-0 last week in St.Davids.

Nick Mihalik (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) stopped six shots in the win and all-conference defenseman
Tommy Asselta (Bethpage, N.Y./Bethpage) and
Andrew Ruane (Parsippany, N.J./ Parsippany) did a stellar job in thwarting the Eagle attack throughout the afternoon.
The Devils earned the victory despite a 7-1 disadvantage on corner kicks and being outshot 15-7 in the game.
