Box Score HOBOKEN, N.J. – The FDU-Florham Devils men's basketball team dropped an evenly contested game to the Stevens Institute Ducks 61-57 on Tuesday night at Canavan Arena.

The Devils (1-3, 0-0 MAC) played the Ducks (2-2, 0-0 Empire8) to an even 27-27 in the first half, but ultimately came up short in the second stanza. Senior John Flete (Flemington, N.J./North Hampton CC) led the way for FDU-Florham with 17 points and six assists in defeat.

A physical contest from the outset, the two teams battled as the lead changed hands eight times throughout the game. The Devils outshot the Ducks 45.8 percent to 29 percent in the first half, however the game entered the break knotted at 27.

Andrew Meszaros led the way for Stevens with 17 points and 12 rebounds as the Ducks shot a red-hot 60 percent from the floor in the second half of play.

Junior guard Kevin Furlong (Hazlet, N.J./Raritan) knocked down a big three-pointer with 10 seconds remaining to cut the Stevens lead to two at 59-57.
