Dominant Devils Win Fred Raizk Tournament

Box Score WILMINGTON, Ohio – The FDU-Florham Devils women's basketball team claimed their second tournament championship of the young season on Saturday by defeating Case Western Reserve University 92-63 in the final of the Fred Raizk Memorial Tournament in Wilmington, Ohio.

The Devils (4-0 , 0-0 MAC), who are ranked 20th by D3Hoops.com, received a first half double-double from Rachel Groom (Edison, N.J./Edison) and 21 points from tournament MVP Kyra Dayon (Trenton, N.J./Trenton Central) in the lopsided victory.

Groom helped the Devils build a 21-point halftime lead by totaling 15 points and 10 rebounds in the first 20 minutes of play. The sophomore finished the afternoon with 17 points and 11 boards and was named to the All-Tournament team along with Dayon and junior forward Shalette Brown (Somerset, N.J./Franklin).
