Box Score MADISON, N.J. – The FDU-Florham Devils field hockey team (5-5) pulled out a 3-2 overtime victory against the Wilkes University Lady Colonels (2-8) on Friday night at Robert T. Shields Field.
Seven minutes into overtime, Geskes found
Kim Davis (Long Branch, N.J./Long Branch) for the game's deciding goal resulting in the Devils fifth win of the season.
Trailing 1-0,
Gabriella D'Amico (Mullica Hill, N.J./Clearview) started the scoring for FDU when she drove home an assist from
Lanie Andrews (Sayreville, N.J./Sayreville) in the 29
th minute. The Lady Colonels regained the lead ten minutes later, providing them a 2-1 advantage heading into intermission.
Devils junior
Niki Ikeda (Lawrence, N.J.) came up clutch in the 69
th minute, when she knocked home a
Stephanie Geskes (Exton, Pa./ Downingtown East) assist to even the score at 2-2. Ikeda's goal sent the game into overtime, where Davis sealed the win.
Geskes now leads the Devils with four assists on the season. The goal for Ikeda was her first of 2013.
