Box Score MADISON, N.J. -- The FDU-Florham Devils field hockey team dropped their season finale to the Stockton College Ospreys 5-1 on Thursday night at Robert T. Shields Field.
The Devils (6-12, 2-5 MAC) led 1-0 at the half courtesy of a
Lanie Andrews (Sayreville, N.J./Sayreville ) goal but the Ospreys (11-6, 2-3 NJAC) countered with five unanswered second half goals to earn the victory.
Senior night started well for FDU-Florham, thanks to a pair of Devils seniors from Sayreville. Andrews and goalkeeper
Jaime Unkel (Sayreville, N.J./Sayreville) sent FDU-Florham into the half with a 1-0 lead. Unkel totaled three saves and held the Ospreys scoreless in the first 45 minutes of play.
With the clock showing all zeroes, Andrews fired in a pass from teammate
Noelle Shirey (Pine Beach, N.J./Toms River South) for her tenth goal of the season, providing the Devils with a 1-0 lead.
The second half belonged to the Ospreys, as Colleen Knight began the scoring for Stockton when she knocked in a cross-pass from Rileigh Ruff to even the score at one goal aside.
Less than three minutes later, Stockton's leading scorer Susie Balidemaj netted the game's deciding goal when she redirected teammate Megan Irving's shot attempt into the back of the cage.
The Ospreys tacked on three more goals in the next eight minutes to secure the victory.
