Box Score UNION, N.J. – The FDU-Florham field hockey team (4-5) was unable to break through against the stout Kean University Cougars (11-1) defense on Tuesday night, falling 2-0.
Cougars freshman Bridgette Bottinelli accounted for both Kean goals on the night. The first came off of a re-direction past Devil goalkeeper
Tess Loughran (Newton, N.J./Newton) 18 minutes into the game. Bottinelli added her second goal of the contest when she pushed the ball across the crowded goal line with 20 minutes left to play.
The Devils offense was determined to get on the board, firing off five shot attempts in the game's final ten minutes, but ultimately were unable to find the back of the net.
In the loss, Devils junior defender
Niki Ikeda (Lawrence, N.J./Lawrence) tallied three shots on goal.
