Kyra Dayon tallied 21 points, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals while freshman center
Rachel Groom recorded 15 points and 11 boards to help the College at Florham Devils beat Misericordia by a score of 64-35 in Freedom Conference action on Saturday afternoon. The Devils held the Cougars to 29.5% shooting while also forcing 26 turnovers.
With the win, the Devils improved to 18-1 (8-0 Freedom) while the Cougars dropped to 9-9 (3-5 Freedom).
FDU led by a count of 8-7 five minutes into the game when they exploded for a 17-3 run to grab a 25-10 lead with 6:12 to go thanks to six points from Dayon. After the Cougars closed to 25-14, FDU finished the half on a 9-4 run to take a 34-18 advantage into intermission.
The Cougars closed to 43-29 with 13:13 to go in the second stanza when the Devils exploded for a game-closing 21-6 run that sealed the 64-35 win. During the run, Groom and sophomore guard
Kara Dayon each put in five points.
