Box Score DOYLESTOWN, PA - Delaware Valley had five players score in double figures to beat the College at Florham Devils by a score of 70-53 in Freedom Conference action on Wednesday evening.

With the loss, the Devils dropped to 8-9 (4-3 Freedom) while the Aggies improved to 11-7 (5-2 Freedom).

Delaware Valley started off hot, opening up a 14-4 lead with 13:33 left in the first half.  FDU came right back though, ripping off a 10-0 run to tie the game at 14-14 just two minues later thanks to six points from senior guard Mike Williamson.  The Aggies were not deterred though, as they responded with a 20-6 outburst to grab a 34-20 advantage with 3:49 to go.  FDU cut it to nine, 34-25, after a three-pointer by Williamson with 2:32 left but the Aggies got that three-ball right back to take a 37-25.  Senior forward Derk Hall scored the last two points of the half from the free throw line to send FDU into the locker room trailing by a score of 37-27.

The Aggies held a 42-31 lead with three minutes gone by in the second stanza when FDU went on an 8-2 run, capped by a three-pointer from sophomore guard Kevin Furlong, to pull to within 44-39 with 11:18 to go.  The Devils got a stop on defense and had a wide open look at another three-pointer that would have cut it to two but the ball rimmed out.  That was as close as FDU would get, as Delaware Valley responded with a 16-1 run over the next three minutes to take a 60-40 lead with 8:01 to go.  The Devils trimmed the deficit to 14, 62-48, after a pair of free throws from junior guard Trevor Sykes with 3:31 remaining but the Aggies hit three free throws down the stretch to ensure the victory.

Williamson scored a team-high 16 points off the bench while Sykes added 13 points and nine rebounds.

The Devils return to action on Saturday, January 26, 2013, at home for Alumni Day against Misericordia beginning at 3 pm.
