Mike Georgetti with 12:58 left in the first quarter. The big play of the drive came when Santos hit Fruncillo for 51 yards down to the King's 16-yard line. King's got a drive going near the end of the first quarter, setting up first-and-goal on the FDU one-yard line but the Devil defense came up big and forced a field goal attempt that went wide left to preserve the 3-0 lead.
On the first play of the second quarter, Bennett got his first carry of the season and burst up the middle for a 72-yard touchdown run to give the Devils a 10-0 lead with 14:49 remaining in the half. On King's next possession, freshman defensive back

Santos and Fruncillo hooked up again for a big play in the drive, this time converting a third-and-thirteen with a 25-yard pass for a first down. The Monarchs moved into FDU territory on their next series but the Devil defense forced a punt and the offense took over on their own nine-yard line with 4:41 left in the half. The Devils then produced the drive of the young season, marching 91 yards in nine plays to grab a 23-0 lead on an 11-yard touchdown pass from Santos to Fruncillo with 1:19 to play. Facing a third-and-five from the King's 45-yard line, Santos hit Fruncillo for 29 yards and a first down to keep the drive alive. Three plays later, the pair put it in the end zone to give the Devils the 23-0 edge heading into intermission.
