Breana Kilpatrick scored five goals while junior midfielder
Katie Rolwood added four goals to lead the College at Florham Devils to a 15-7 win over Eastern in Freedom Conference action on Wednesday evening. The victory gave FDU Head Coach
Adrienne Carr her 100th career win.
With the win, the Devils improved to 8-6 (3-0 Freedom) while the Eagles dropped to 5-8 (3-1 Freedom).
Eastern jumped out to a 2-1 lead with 26:48 left in the first half but Kilpatrick tied it at 2-2 just 0:48 later. The Eagles then scored the next two goals to grab a 4-2 advantage before FDU ripped off six consecutive goals to end the first half with an 8-4 lead. Kilpatrick scored two goals in the run for the Devils.
FDU picked up where they left off to begin the second half, scoring the first five goals of the period to grab a 13-4 lead with 12:55 left in the game. Rolwood scored two goals in the spurt for FDU. Eastern tried to mount a comeback, scoring the next two goals to close to 13-6 with 2:58 remaining but Kilpatrick and junior attack
Nicole Peotter scored back-to-back goals to give the Devils a 15-6 lead with 2:11 to go. Eastern scored the final goal of the game but by that time it was too little too late as FDU had already secured the win.
Peotter finished the game with three goals while sophomore defender
Leigh Anne Fournier added a goal and an assist. Freshman goalkeeper
Patty Samms was outstanding in earning the win, as she made 12 saves.
The Devils return to action on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at Wilkes beginning at 1 pm.
