Katie Rolwood tallied seven goals and an assist while senior midfielder
Breana Kilpatrick added five goals and three assists to lead the College at Florham Devils to a 19-16 win over Cabrini in non-conference action on Thursday evening.
With the win, the Devils improved to 7-5.
Cabrini started the game hot, scoring the first three goals before FDU responded with four in a row to take a 4-3 lead with 16:26 left in the first half. Rolwood and Kilpatrick each scored two goals during the run. The Cavaliers came right back though, scoring four of the next five goals to grab a 7-5 advantage with 8:46 to play. Freshman midfielder
Courtney Rendinaro then scored back-to-back goals and Rolwood added another tally to put FDU up, 8-7, with 4:03 remaining, but Cabrini notched the next two goals to take a 9-8 lead with 1:36 to go. Rolwood tied the game at 9-9 with 0:53 left and junior attack
Ally Lerner caused a turnover and converted it to give FDU a 10-9 edge with 0:11 remaining. The Devils then won the draw and junior attack
Sara Slicklen converted a pass from Kilpatrick with 0:01 left to put the Devils on top 11-9 heading into intermission.
FDU scored four of the first five goals of the second half, with Kilpatrick notching three of the goals, to take a 15-10 lead with 20:23 left in the game. Cabrini then made a run to get back into though, scoring five of the next six goals to close to within one, 16-15, with 13:45 to go. Rolwood then took over for the Devils, scoring two straight before freshman defender
Caitlyn McGinley made it 19-15 with 10:42 remaining. The Cavaliers scored their final goal with 8:10 to go but the Devils were able to run out the rest of the clock to earn the victory.
