Devils Hold Off Lycoming, 12-10

Box Score WILLIAMSPORT, PA - The College at Florham Devils jumped out to an 8-2 halftime advantage on their way to a 12-10 win over Lycoming in non-conference action on Sunday afternoon.

With the win, the Devils improved to 4-5.

The Devils started the game on fire, as junior midfielder Katie Rolwood scored a goal just 0:11 into the contest before she made it 2-0 with 26:47 left in the first half.  After Lycoming cut it to 2-1, FDU scored the next six goals to take an 8-1 lead with 10:22 remaining.  Freshman attack Nicole Ham scored two goals in the run for the Devils.  The Warriors scored the last goal of the half, with 8:36 left, to cut the FDU lead to 8-2 heading into intermission.

The beginning of the second half was when Lycoming made their run to get back into the game.  The Warriors scored six of the first seven goals of the stanza to close to within 9-8 with 11:40 to go in the game.  FDU responded though, as senior midfielder Breana Kilpatrick scored two goals sandwiched around a goal from freshman midfielder Courtney Rendinaro to give the Devils a 12-8 advantage with 7:10 to play.  Lycoming made it 12-9 with 4:11 remaining before scoring to close to 12-10 just 0:27 later but the FDU defense rose up and allowed nothing else to earn the hard fought win.

Kilpatrick finished the game with three goals and one assist while Rolwood had two goals and two assists.  Rendinaro tallied two goals and one assist, Ham notched two goals, and junior attack Sara Slicklen recorded a goal and two assists.  Freshman goalkeeper Patty Samms picked up the win, making 13 saves.

The Devils return to action on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at home with their Freedom Conference opener against Misericordia beginning at 4 pm.
