Devils Rally From 12-Point Halftime Deficit To Beat Aggies

Box Score MADISON, NJ - The College at Florham Devils entered halftime trailing Delaware Valley by a score of 41-29 but a 37-15 run to start the second half gave the Devils a 66-56 lead on their way to a 73-66 victory in Freedom Conference action on Wednesday evening.

With the win, the Devils improved to 9-9 (4-3 Freedom) while the Aggies dropped to 3-15 (0-7 Freedom).

The Devils opened up an 18-16 lead with 11:07 left in the first half after a three-pointer from junior guard Mike Williamson but the Aggies then got hot from the field and went on a 25-9 run to grab a 41-27 lead with 0:58 to play in the half.  Senior guard Adam Katz scored the final bucket of the half with 0:02 remaining to make the score 41-29 heading into intermission.

When the game resumed, the Devils methodically picked apart the Aggies as the embarked on their 37-15 run to grab a 66-56 lead with 3:31 left in the game.  Junior forward Derek Hall had 11 points in the run while sophomore forward Andrew Stress added nine points.  The Aggies closed to six points on three different occassions, the last of which making it 72-66 with 0:23 to play, but the Devil defense and some timely free throws earned FDU the win.

Hall finished with 15 points and a game-high 13 rebounds while Stress tallied 16 points and nine boards.  Katz notched 12 points and five assists, Williamson recorded 14 points and four assists, and sophomore guard Trevor Sykes poured in 12 points.

The Devils return to action on Saturday, January 28, 2012, at Misericordia beginning at 3 pm.
