Box Score ST. DAVIDS, PA - The College at Florham Devils were defeated by Eastern, 84-68, in Freedom Conference action on Wednesday evening.

With the loss, the Devils dropped to 7-9 (1-4 Freedom) while the Eagles improved to 12-3 (4-1 Freedom). 

Eastern raced out to a 26-9 lead with 9:25 left in the first half before the Devils closed to within 12, 28-16, just 1:23 later.  The Eagles increased their lead to 19, 41-22, with 2:58 to go in the half but FDU closed the half on a mini 9-4 run to make it 45-31 heading into intermission.

With 6:31 gone by in the second half, the Eagles upped their margin to 20 points by grabbing a 58-38 advantage.  That's when the Devils made their biggest and last push of the game, going on a 16-7 run over the next seven minutes to pull to within 65-54 with 6:03 remaining.  That was as close as FDU would get though, as Eastern responded with a 17-5 run to put the game away.

Freshman forward Kyra Dayon led the Devils with 13 points, six rebounds and four assists while sophomore forward Brianna Nicholls added 12 points, five rebounds and five assists.

The Devils return to action on Saturday, January 21, 2012, at Wilkes beginning at 1 pm.
