HOBOKEN, NJ - The College at Florham Devils knocked off Franklin, 3-0 (25-11, 25-10, 25-21), and Stevens, 3-0 (25-20, 26-24, 25-20), on the first day of the Stevens Tournament on Friday evening.
With the pair of wins, the Devils have now won seven in a row and improved to 10-3 on the season.
FRANKLIN - Junior outside hitter
Chelsea Hoeffler paced the Devils with seven kills while sophomore middle hitter
Helena Riede and freshman right side
Andrea Peters each had six kills. Senior libero
Marta Matera tallied 17 digs, junior setter
Nicole Weissert recorded 17 assists, and freshman setter
Riley Brewer notched 11 assists and five aces.
STEVENS - Against the host school, Peters led the way with 11 kills while freshman outside hitter
Momi Mariani added nine kills and eight digs. Matera finished with 10 digs, Weissert had 29 assists, and Riede had seven kills.
The Devils return to action on Saturday, September 17, 2011, for day two of the Stevens Tournament against Elmira at 12 pm and against Newbury beginning at 2 pm.
