NEW YORK, NY - The College at Florham Devils opened up their 2011 season on Thursday night at the Hunter Tri-Match.  FDU dropped their first match to Stevens, 3-0 (29-27, 25-17, 25-21), before rebounding to beat Hunter, 3-0 (26-24, 25-19, 26-24).

With the split, the Devils now stand at 1-1.

STEVENS - Junior outside hitter Chelsea Hoeffler led FDU with 10 kills while junior setter Nicole Weissert added 19 assists, six digs and four aces.  Sophomore middle hitter Helena Riede added seven digs.

HUNTER - The Devils were able to hold off the Hawks thanks to 12 kills and 14 digs from Hoeffler.  Freshman outside hitter Momi Mariani added eight kills and 24 digs, Weissert posted 34 assists, and senior libero Marta Matera tallied 12 digs.

The Devils return to action on Friday, September 2, 2011, at the Virginia Wesleyan Tournament against McMurry at 5 pm and against Hollins beginning at 7 pm.
